What is it?

A team race that will take you through some paved paths and wooded trail runs. Along the way, you’ll be completing a variety of fun and challenging tasks. The race benefits the Lee Brothers Side Kick Foundation and the Wake County Boys & Girls Club.

Who benefits?

The Lee Brothers Side Kick Foundation is raising money to support the Wake County Boys & Girls Club.

What is the format?

Adventure Race (Adult/Teen)

This is a team event. Teams are 2 to 4 people. This year, all teams will complete the same loop. Team captains will be given a map and a brief of the route just before the start of the race. At least one smart phone per team will be required. At certain checkpoints, a team photo will be required to prove successful completion of the race. At other checkpoint, you will have the opportunity to earn a time bonus by making a post to Facebook given certain parameters and receiving a certain number of shares or likes before completing the course. We’re expecting that it will take 1 to 2 hours to complete the course, which will cover approximately a 5k. Certain events will favor a smaller team, while others will favor a larger team. So there really is no optimal team size strategically. It’s more important to bring some friends and enjoy a very unique and fun afternoon.

Children’s Fun Run (8-12 year olds)

The kids race can be run as either an individual event, or a relay with a parent or sibling. The course will be approximately one half mile with challenges/obstacles along the way.

When is it?

The children’s fun run will begin Saturday September 26, 2015 at 1 pm.
The adventure race will follow at at 2 pm.

Where is it?

North Wake Landfill District Park
9300 Deponie Drive
Raleigh, NC 27614

The starting point will be near the Sycamore Picnic Shelter.
