Are you ready to change lives?
Volunteers are critical to the success of the Boys & Girls Clubs. With your time, energy, and expertise, we are better able to prepare our members for great futures. Volunteers have the power to impact our members in a way that can truly change their lives forever.
We typically need volunteers interested in one of the following four areas:
(1) Individual Volunteers
Please Note: All new Individual Volunteer applications will be reviewed for orientation in the Fall. Summer opportunities are no longer available for Individual Volunteers. Thank you!
Volunteers working individually must complete a volunteer application AFTER the $10 Background Check fee is paid. Once the application is completed, volunteers must have a background check performed as well as attend an orientation session. If you have any questions, please contact Lindsey Doerr at email@example.com 919-834-6282. Click here to pay for the Background Check ($10) and you will then be directed to the Application.
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. For rising high school sophomores through seniors reference our VolunTeen program. Please note that we do not allow volunteers completing court-ordered/recommended community service (no matter the offense) to work in our Clubs.
Assist with “Power Hour” – Power Hour is a comprehensive homework help and tutoring program. POWER HOUR is designed to raise the academic proficiency of all Club members. (All Clubs 3:30pm-6pm times may vary)
Create Your Own “Club” – Have a special skill? Want to share it with impressionable youth? Whether you come weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, you can start your own “Club” with a subset of members who are interested in learning your hobby. It’s a great way to teach and mentor youth on new activities they may have never had the opportunity to try.
Become a Mentor – Help a member stay focused on school, discourage against unhealthy behavior/habits, serve as a positive role model, or encourage them to stay active!
Sports & Recreation – Assist in leading a sport or activity in the Gym such as coaching indoor and outdoor sports or managing a Games Room tournament.
Arts & Crafts Assist – If you have a wide imagination and a unique artistic ability, leading an arts & craft activity might be right up your ally! Visual arts, music, drama, or dance – doesn’t matter, we want it all!
Administrative – Good with a computer? Have great clerical skills? Club staff could really use your help before hours to help get organized for the day ahead. Making spreadsheets, proofreading documents, making copies etc.
And Many More….

We have limited, unpaid internships available. Please fill out a Work Study/Internship application form and please contact Lindsey Doerr at firstname.lastname@example.org or 919-834-6282 to discuss your interests.
